About me

Hello, I’m Anna, and I’m truly happy that you’ve found Root & Branch Healing because I believe you have more capacity to change, heal and grow than you’ve perhaps ever realised. If the tailored mind-body approach I offer appeals to you then perhaps we can rediscover and re-ignite that capacity together!

After my own experiences with anxiety and crushing chronic physical symptoms, I eventually discovered mind-body and emerging neuroplasticity approaches to recovery, and I’ve been blown away by the results. Perhaps like you, I’d tried standard treatments from western medicine, as well as a wide range of alternative and holistic therapies and approaches. Over several years I tried talking therapy and counselling, EMDR, medication, acupuncture, homeopathy, nutritional therapy, restrictive diets, bodywork and more. Sometimes something seemed to work for a while, but then symptoms would come back, or new ones would appear. It began to feel hopeless.

If this is your experience too then please know that you are not alone, and change is possible. Many people who go on to recover using a mind-body framework have been on this same merry-go-round, and down every possible health-related rabbit hole ~ sometimes for years or even decades. It has been through exploring these new therapeutic avenues that I began my own journey to feeling better physically, and in the process I’ve reconnected with a deeper, truer version of myself. It sounds too good to be true, but the same techniques that eased the symptoms also helped me with setting healthy boundaries, improving relationships, and being kinder to myself, all whilst connecting more fully with my real self and my intuition. What could be more amazing and beautiful than that?

So if you’d like to explore new possibilities for feeling better and reconnecting with yourself, then I’d love to hear from you. Please contact me to arrange a free initial call to find out if my approach feels right for you.

Toolkit

My training, together with my personal and professional experience, gives me a broad perspective on healing and enables me to support clients in understanding and addressing the deeper patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I hold Advanced Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Therapeutic Coaching, a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT Psychological Interventions, and an honours degree in Psychology. I’m also trained in applied kinesiology, which uses body-based (somatic) biofeedback techniques as part of a holistic approach to mind-body wellbeing.

Alongside my formal training, I’ve spent years exploring the emerging field of mind-body healing since discovering its potential. I’ve immersed myself in the research, books and clinical thinking in this area, as well as listening to the experiences of practitioners and people who have recovered from persistent symptoms and unwanted patterns. And of course this isn’t just an area I’ve studied professionally ~ I’ve experienced it from the sharp end myself, as I travelled my own healing journey.

I have a professional background in one-to-one work with clients, first within charities supporting people facing trauma and loss, and then within the NHS as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. Through these roles I’ve gained years of experience in compassionately supporting people as they navigate difficult experiences and challenging emotions. Clients often say they feel they are “in safe hands” with me ~ feedback that I value highly. My approach is supportive, compassionate and trauma-informed, and you and your needs and experiences are always at the centre.
